Product Information File
A PIF (Product Information File) is the technical dossier every cosmetic product, including a fragrance, must have before it is placed on the EU/UK market, held by the product's Responsible Person.
It contains the product description, the CPSR, the manufacturing method with a GMP statement, proof of any claimed effects and data on any animal testing. It must be kept readily available to the authorities for ten years after the last batch is placed on the market, and updated whenever the product or its data change.
