Responsible Person
The Responsible Person is the company or individual, based in the EU (or the UK for the British market), legally accountable for a cosmetic product's compliance.
Every product placed on the market needs one. The Responsible Person keeps the PIF, notifies the product, makes sure the label is correct and handles reports of serious undesirable effects. An EU-based brand is usually its own Responsible Person; a brand from outside the EU appoints one.
