Flanker
A flanker is a sequel or spin-off fragrance that keeps the name and bottle architecture of an existing bestseller but alters its scent profile.
YSL Libre Intense, for example, is a flanker to the original YSL Libre. Flankers let a brand extend a successful line with a richer, lighter or seasonal take, often at a different concentration, while trading on the recognition of the original.
